Merri Community Shed

19 Harding Street, Coburg 3058

The Merri Community  Shed (MerriCS) is a place where members can come together to work on projects, socialise and support one another. We aim to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can come together to learn new skills, share their knowledge and experience, and connect with others who share similar interests. Whether you’re a seasoned DIY enthusiast or looking to try something new, our shed has something for everyone.

Our shed is for everyone.  Our membership requirements do not have any specifics about gender, cultural background, age, level of ability, or anything else that might prevent anyone from contributing as a member.

Chopping Board Revival Service

Bring your chopping board[s] to the shed for a old to new revival service.

We’ll sand out the knife marks perform small repairs and then oil your board in food grade oil to extend its life for years to come.

Donate to help the shed.

Our shed survives on donations alone.  Please consider donating to the shed to help us continue our work in the community.

Woodworking

From building furniture to creating intricate wood carvings, members can develop and improve their woodworking skills in a supportive environment.

Metalworking

From welding and fabrication to metalworking, members can gain hands-on experience and knowledge of metalworking techniques.

Electronics

Learn how to build electronics, diagnose and repair problems with a range of household electronics, such as televisions, computers, and appliances.

Have tools & equipment to donate?

At the Merri Community Shed, we believe that every tool and piece of equipment can make a difference in the lives of the people in our community. That’s why we are seeking donations of gently used tools and equipment to help us continue our mission of providing a space where the community can connect, learn new skills, and work on projects together.

Whether you have old power tools collecting dust in the garage, or excess supplies from a recent project, we would be grateful for your donation. Your contribution will help us equip our workshops, provide materials for community service projects, and give our members the resources they need to bring their ideas to life.

Donating is easy! Simply fill out our contact form or drop off your tools and equipment at the Community Shed during regular hours. Together, we can make a positive impact in the lives of our community.
