The Merri Community Shed (MerriCS) is a place where members can come together to work on projects, socialise and support one another. We aim to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can come together to learn new skills, share their knowledge and experience, and connect with others who share similar interests. Whether you’re a seasoned DIY enthusiast or looking to try something new, our shed has something for everyone.
Our shed is for everyone. Our membership requirements do not have any specifics about gender, cultural background, age, level of ability, or anything else that might prevent anyone from contributing as a member.
Bring your chopping board[s] to the shed for a old to new revival service.
We’ll sand out the knife marks perform small repairs and then oil your board in food grade oil to extend its life for years to come.
Our shed survives on donations alone. Please consider donating to the shed to help us continue our work in the community.
The famous planter boxes many new members make as their first project are now available all complete.

At Merri Community Shed, we believe that every tool and piece of equipment can make a difference in helping our community learn, create, and connect. We are always seeking gently used tools and equipment to support our workshops and community projects.
If you have power tools, hand tools, or surplus materials from a recent project, we would love to give them a second life. Your donation will help equip our workshops, provide resources for community initiatives, and support members in bringing their ideas to life.
To donate, click the button below to complete our donation form. This helps us assess suitability and coordinate drop-off or collection. Please wait for confirmation from our team before bringing items to the shed.
Your generosity helps us build a stronger, more connected community—thank you for your support!
